About Me
I’m Annemarie, a neurodiversity change maker committed to raising the profile of neurodivergent professionals and challenging the ableist stories that hold us back. My work is rooted in lived experience—I am formally diagnosed with dyslexia and dyspraxia, with traits of ADHD and autism—and I proudly identify as neurodivergent.
I began my career in Further Education as a sociology teacher and middle manager, before completing my PhD and founding Neurodivergent Insider. My focus is on reshaping the way we talk about, understand, and value neurodivergence—shifting it away from deficit-based narratives and towards a culture and practice that is shaped by neurodiversity approach(es).
My Approach to Coaching:
I don’t believe in fixing people to fit into systems that were never designed for us. Instead, my coaching is about:
Leaning into strengths and reclaiming pride in difference
Challenging ableism and internalised ableism that can silence or diminish us
Reframing the narrative from "struggle" to "power in perspective"
Creating space for neurodivergent voices to be heard, valued, and celebrated and for neurodivergent people to lean into their ways of knowing and being.
