About Me
Hi, I'm Susan and I am an ADHD Specialist Coach, Leadership Coach, Freelance Consultant and Trainer - because nothing shouts ADHD more than having my hand in many pots at once.
For over 20 years, I’ve worked in the third sector – the last 12 as CEO of a regional charity in the health and social care sector, supporting disabled children, young adults, and their parent carers. It was a role I loved, but it came with a cost. Looking back, I can see I was in a slow, quiet burnout for years. This is a story I know many of my neurodivergent peers will recognise.
In 2022, I received my own ADHD diagnosis. It was a lightbulb moment, where my life and experiences began to make more sense. But when I went looking for a coach, the process was overwhelming, decision paralysis set in and the cost of support often put it out of reach.
In April 2024 I became self-employed, immersing myself in new learning opportunities to become the kind of coach I couldn’t find. I am now a qualified Leadership Coach (Think EQ), an ADHD Specialist Coach (Gold Mind Academy), a member of the Association for Coaching and I am working towards my accreditation.
That same year, I launched Values Connect, blending my passion for the third sector, my interest in wellbeing and my curiosity about how ADHD and other neurotypes show up in real life. My coaching approach is grounded in compassion, authenticity and trust. I work with clients to not only navigate challenges, but to uncover and celebrate their strengths through building self-awareness, embedding practical strategies and developing the skills to thrive.
Alongside professional expertise, I bring lived experience as a parent carer of two children with additional support needs. I understand first-hand the delicate balance of managing my own emotional regulation while helping my children co-regulate. It’s taken a lot of ‘unlearning’ of traditional parenting approaches, which has brought insight, patience and empathy that I carry into every coaching conversation.
If you’re looking for a coach who will meet you with understanding, honesty and curiosity, while helping you move forward with clarity and confidence – I’d love to hear from you.
