About Me
For more than 20 years, as an IT consultant and a trainer, I travelled the UK helping people with their businesses. My work involved running seminars and facilitating courses but what I loved most was getting to work with individuals. There is nothing like having to convert to new software to stir up emotions and a lot of my time would be spent over a cup of tea, talking through people’s fears and helping them to have faith in our products & also their own potential as expert users. It took time and patience, and I loved it.
My work life wasn’t always plain sailing of course. Travelling took its toll, and parking tickets haunted my soul. By the time my children came along, trying to juggle such a demanding role with parenting had become physically and emotionally draining. I would like to say ‘I stopped’ but of course I didn’t. Driven by the idea ‘I should’ - I crashed, and I burned, unable to set foot in a corporate space (or even look at a job vacancy) without the feeling of rising panic for a further 10 years.
My ADHD diagnosis came as no surprise in 2022. My children who, for a long time, I’d felt had “destroyed” my identity had only torn down the façade and were actually about to teach me everything I truly need to know about myself.
I retrained as a coach and founded NeurocoachUK Ltd where I now help Individuals and those parenting ADHD as well as provide corporate training for organisations wanting to improve understanding and inclusivity for their neurodivergent workforce.
Gold Mind helped me rediscover my process for learning and I am now studying a BSc in Psychology. My goal is to keep learning in this field in the hope that I can make some real change. In time I’d like to deliver courses for schools and work with prisoners.
